I enjoyed attending the Internet Freedom Festival in lovely Valencia, Spain again in March this year, where I also presented twice. I ran a workshop on Collaborative Sketching for Secure & Usable Apps and lead a guided discussion on the topic of Social Media & At-Risk Groups. I also enjoyed assisting with a UX clinic and helping attendees, who were working on various apps applicable to the privacy and security community.

Back in August, I wrote a piece on Medium entitled "There Is No Illegal Immigrant Crisis." The Huffington Post asked to reprint this piece and since then I've continued with a series of articles on the subject, which have gathered thousands of views and shares on both platforms. I hope to continue the series with several related pieces.

Here are the first three from this series as they appear on the Huffington Post:

Internet Freedom Festival by Robert Stribley

I was very excited to attend the Internet Freedom Festival this year in Valencia, Spain (March 1-6) and to volunteer as a lead for the Community & Communications track. I attended many great sessions on subjects such as the Iranian Cyber Army, Privacy Across Cultures and the gender gap at Wikimedia. Above I'm pictured with Gus Andrews, Simply Secure who helped lead a UX Jam with Christopher Wood, Grid Systems. We collaborated on develop the UX for the GridSync app. I also enjoyed giving a brief presentation about our work at Razorfish to a great group of UXers and Designers at Salón de Deseño, hosted by the good folks at Simply Secure.

Chanel Workshop by Robert Stribley

On July 20th, I had the pleasure of conducting my Collaborative Sketching workshop with the Creative and PR teams at Chanel here in New York. We also discussed the principles of collaborative techniques and how teams, which haven't typically worked together can be more productive.
